MASS-TECH BAGS ORDER FROM ITER

Mass-Tech Controls Pvt Ltd., has added another feather in it's cap by bagging a big order for supply of Motor Control Centers and LCPs. This order has come from ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor).

ITER is a collaboration of 35 developed nations namely USA, Russia, South Korea, China, Japan, European Union and India. This is a project to create a miniature Sun on Earth in France, for generating unlimited supply of clean energy from a non-polluting source.

The temperature of the source, which will be created by fusion of hydrogen atoms, will be similar to that of the Sun. For this, L & T India is making the world's largest stainless steel vacuum chamber weighing almost 3,800 tons and height which is half that of Qutub Minar, will encase the entire vacuum vessel and the superconducting magnets ensuring ultra cool protective environment, capable of maintaining a temperature of minus 200°C.

Through L & T, Mass-Tech has executed an order for 15 nos MCC Panels and 4 LCPs. ITER has also directly placed an order of 4 MCCs, which will be used for the project.

These panels have been extensively tested at ERDA, Vadodara for the following parameters :-

  • ESD Immunity as per IEC 61000-4-2:2008
  • Radiated Immunity per IEC 6100-4-3:2010
  • Fast Transient per IEC 61000-4-4:2012
  • Surge per IEC 61000-4-5:2017
  • Emission per IEC 61000-6-4:2011

Considering the severe environment, the panels have been tested against seismic conditions.
